UAE Gratuity Calculator 2026
Estimate UAE end-of-service gratuity from your monthly basic salary and length of service using the standard private-sector formula.
How UAE gratuity is calculated
For a standard full-time foreign worker in the UAE private sector who has completed at least one year of continuous service, end-of-service gratuity is based on the last basic wage: 21 days of basic wage for each year of the first five years, then 30 days for each additional year. Fractions of a year are calculated proportionally after the first year.
Important UAE gratuity assumptions
- This calculator uses monthly basic salary, not allowances or total package.
- Service under one year returns zero under the standard gratuity rule.
- The estimate is capped at two years of basic wage.
- Unpaid absence, alternative savings schemes, pensions, deductions and special cases are not modelled.
Official rule source
The calculation follows Article 51 of the UAE employment law published by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). View the MOHRE employment law. Always confirm your final settlement with your employer or MOHRE if your contract has special terms.
What the UAE gratuity estimate uses
The estimate is based on basic salary and completed service time, not the employee’s full package. Enter the basic salary shown in the employment terms rather than adding allowances unless the applicable rule specifically requires otherwise.
This calculator is designed for a quick planning estimate. Contract type, service history, applicable law, alternative savings schemes and future rule changes can affect a real settlement, so verify the current MOHRE rules for an official employment decision.

Check the basic-salary figure first
UAE gratuity under the standard private-sector approach is based on basic wage, not the entire monthly package. Entering total salary can materially overstate an estimate.
- Use the basic salary shown in the relevant employment records.
- Enter continuous service time as accurately as possible.
- Alternative savings schemes, pensions, deductions or special cases need separate review outside this simplified estimate.
