Password Generator

Generate a random password with the length and character types you choose, using your browser's cryptographic random number generator.

How to use the password generator

  1. Set the length with the slider.
  2. Choose which character types to include.
  3. Click Generate password, then copy it — or generate a new one any time.

Features

  • Uses crypto.getRandomValues for secure randomness, not Math.random
  • Adjustable length from 6 to 64 characters
  • Guarantees at least one character from each selected type
  • Live strength indicator

Use generated passwords securely

Long, unique passwords are more useful than reusing a memorable password across many sites. Generate a different password for each account and store it in a reputable password manager so you do not need to memorise every value.

For important accounts, enable multi-factor authentication as well. A strong password reduces guessing risk, while a second factor helps protect the account if the password is ever exposed elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, the generator uses your browser's Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), the same cryptographically secure source used for security-sensitive code, rather than the weaker Math.random.

No, each password exists only in your browser tab and is never sent to a server or saved by this site.

The character sets avoid easily confused characters to reduce typing mistakes when you enter the password manually.

A strong password also needs safe storage

Length and randomness make generated passwords hard to guess, but security still depends on using a different password for each important account and storing it safely. A password manager is usually better than memorising or reusing complex strings.

  • Use the longest password the service comfortably accepts.
  • Do not reuse the same generated password on multiple sites.
  • Turn on multi-factor authentication when the service supports it.
